No you did not invite me 😉
You have a point that Facebook will surely not have Google use the entire API to take away their customers.
Until I will be able to see for myself, I still insist that the overall concepts are the same, but called by other names. Which does not mean that one or the is a better product.

First of all. The Circle concept is very strong and makes it the better product. Just have look at it. i think I sent you an invitation (-:
Why schould they use Facebook API? If you log in they already know all your friends and contacts. So there is no need for Facebook connect.
Nevertheless using facebook API is only for free up to 5 Mio monthly active users and sveral million API calls. Google would exeed these limits within hours.
last but not least: facebook would never allow Google to user their API in order to take away the users. There again you can see that facebook open graph api ist not open!

Hi René,
I did not yet take a look at Google+, nevertheless I don’t see the point where the circles or the way people get connected is different from Facebook. Actually that all does not matter. If it is a good product, it will prevail.
What I miss: Why did they not integrate Facebook using their API? That would definitely motivate more people to switch to Google+ .
I once deleted my StudiVZ Account in favor of Facebook, because I did not really use it anymore. But FB created a stronger network, which people will not leave behind so easily.
