you put some good points here. I agree to most of them.
Only the practice to put a lot of text, I still consider as bad practice. This is slowly changing in China, too.
You can see this improvement of less text but more information also on websites and how mobile Apps designed here. Chinese usability designers do a really good job now on many examples…

I don’t know. Is it forbidden to go out to make a call, or maybe go to the bathroom, in the middle of a talk or conference, in your country?
Here, maybe in some formal occasion it would be impolite, but, you know, it’s usually not that a big deal.
Also, putting a lot of text in slides is considered bad practice, but since there’re many bad ones, we’ve got used to that.
