Last week I had a meeting with my PhD advisor and we talked about my ideas on social news streams and how you could implement them using graph data bases. Of course my choise here would be neo4j. Yesterday I had my first talk in our “Oberseminar” which is a weekly meeting of all PhD students where everyone presents his work. From both events I received a lot of helpful feedback and I am thankful to have so many great people around me!
I was very convinced that I found the solution to a problem concerning these social news streams. It ist very interesting to see how in the scientific process of writing ideas down, presenting and discussing them you will find more and more tiny parts of the solution that are still not obvious or might need a further discussion.
Anyway currently I am using all this feedback to create a scientific poster which I am about to present at the European Summer School of Information Retrieval next week. Once the poster is done I will share the poster and the slides from my talk with you and give you some more information on my current work and ideas which I will hopefully be able to turn into my very first publication (-:
